about
Attempted recordings of this song were pathetic. There is a habit and routine that occurs after an attempted completed demo in which one consumes copious amounts of tea while driving around picking out all the mistakes in a demo mix. Only to then return to the makeshift studio ad fix all the imperfections and try the drive again.
With Channel Strip that routine happened four times, was scrapped completely and then re-written and re-attempted from a totally different viewpoint/direction after two days of listening to a really bad version of this song,
The only reason this version exists... is because the first version was so bad.
lyrics
Highways and figures, will cloud up the scene
As the waves appear, no comes the fear... it's all so real...it' all so real
So take what ya can, just take what ya will, just take what ya need
There ain't no chance you'll be back...if you know what I mean
The ghosts all chuckle, there ain't no fear when the water hits your mind
When ya said bye bye, ya knew this was the end, there ain't no way to survive
As the trouble sets in, so does the sin as it mucks with the tide
You'll never be the same, you'll never be sane
Float on (with me)
Float on (with me)
Float on (with me)
Let go of all your fears...just let em go
Kick up with the past, let em stumble through the gate as you fall away
As you shift and you stare all alone on the plane far from this mess
Off again we go, back to the show, let's lose control
Out cold in the fire, just head in a haze, as you let it all go
On back to your home, where you'll be safe and everything will be fine...
In your mind
It's all in your mind
Float on (with me) It's all in your head baby
Float on (with me) It's all in your head baby
Float on (with me) It's all in your head baby
Let go of all your fears...just let em go
It's all in your head baby
